Esta combinaci\u00f3n reduc\u00eda el trabajo de mantenimiento, al tener ambos aviones id\u00e9nticos motores y muchas piezas intercambiables. A finales de la d\u00e9cada de 1920 comenzaron a llegar a Indochina\u00a0los primeros Potez 25, los aviones de guerra colonial m\u00e1s utilizados hasta 1940. Despu\u00e9s llegaron los Potez 29,\u00a0id\u00e9nticos al modelo 25 excepto en el fuselaje, m\u00e1s espacioso para permitir el transporte\u00a0de heridos, carga y pasajeros.<\/p>\n<p>La aviaci\u00f3n sanitaria ten\u00eda un papel muy importante en las colonias, donde las distancias eran grandes y las carreteras muy malas. Por ejemplo, los 450 km\u00a0por tierra entre Lai Chau y Han\u00f3i, que pod\u00edan llevar varios d\u00edas de camino, fueron salvados limpiamente por el ayudante piloto Brion en una hora y media, y as\u00ed salv\u00f3 su vida el sargento Pieplu, gravemente enfermo. Los 350 km entre Luang Prabang y Vienti\u00e1n (Laos) se pod\u00edan hacer en una hora. Esta prodigiosa capacidad de teleportaci\u00f3n que proporcionaba el avi\u00f3n ten\u00eda un importante sentido moral y psicol\u00f3gico en las colonias:<\/p>\n<p>\u00abIl faut souligner le r\u00f4le moral de l&#8217;avion sanitaire.
