Las unidades del Ej\u00e9rcito de Aire franc\u00e9s sol\u00edan usar\u00a0como denominaciones parcelas del Imperio: departamentos franceses y colonias incluidas (por ejemplo Ardennes, Limousin, Vend\u00e9e, Navarre, Alsace, Berry, Roussillon, Savoie, Guyenne, Tunisie, S\u00e9n\u00e9gal).\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>El compacto y potente Bearcat supuso un salto adelante con respecto al King Cobra. Hab\u00eda sido dise\u00f1ado en 1944 como el supercaza de la marina estadounidense, capaz de volar a casi 700 km\/h y trepar r\u00e1pidamente hasta su techo de 12.000 metros. Estas performances no serv\u00edan de nada en Indochina, pero s\u00ed que hubiera sido dise\u00f1ado para operar desde portaaviones, pues pod\u00eda aterrizar y despegar\u00a0en pistas cortas. Tambi\u00e9n resultaba \u00fatil para el trabajo colonial que su potente motor de 2.100 hp le permitiera llevar casi media tonelada de bombas. Pensado para los limpios y frescos ambientes oce\u00e1nicos, utilizar el Bearcat en pistas c\u00e1lidas y polvorientas trajo muchos quebraderos de cabeza a los aviadores franceses.<\/p>\n<p>Los Bearcat fueron los monomotores principales de ataque en la \u00faltima fase de la guerra de Indochina, actuando muchas veces junto a los B-26 bimotores, que s\u00ed estaban muy bien adaptados a la guerra a\u00e9rea colonial. El Ej\u00e9rcito de Tierra decid\u00eda los blancos, que los aviones atacaban con bombas y ametrallamientos. Pocas veces era posible distinguir con claridad un\u00a0objetivo\u00a0del Vietminh bombardeable, de manera que las balas y los explosivos\u00a0llov\u00edan sobre Vietnam con la esperanza de acertar con\u00a0dep\u00f3sitos de municiones, almacenes de alimentos y rutas de suministro.<\/p>\n<p>El napalm se utilizaba en ocasiones como arma de destrucci\u00f3n masiva. En los ataques del Vietminh de 1951 hacia el delta del R\u00edo Rojo y Hanoi, que terminaron en derrota, los bombardeos con napalm fueron determinantes para detener las fuerzas vietnamitas. Los bidones de napalm no llevaban ning\u00fan tipo de aletas de direcci\u00f3n, para que cayeran dando tumbos\u00a0y multiplicar as\u00ed su impacto destructivo sobre el terreno.<\/p>\n<p>Esta es la descripci\u00f3n de un ataque con napalm desde el punto de vista de los que eran atacados con esta arma terrible:<\/p>\n<p>\u00abNgo Van Chieu commanded a Viet Minh platoon in northern Vietnam during the battle of Vinh Yen in early 1951. Napalm. Fire that falls from the sky \u2026. My men ran for cover, and I could not stop them. There is no way you can stay put under this rain of fire that spreads out and burns everything in its path. From everywhere the flames leap up. Joining them was the burst of French machine gun fire, mortars and artillery, transforming into a burning tomb what was only ten minutes earlier a small forest \u2026 His eyes were locked wide open by the horror of the scene he had just witnessed.
