Este ejemplar fue fotografiado sobre el Alc\u00e1zar de Segovia y <a href=\"http:\/\/aeropinakes.com\/wordpress\/archive\/un-b-47-sobre-segovia\/\">apareci\u00f3 en la revista Life<\/a> como parte de la red de \u00abprotecci\u00f3n a\u00e9rea mundial\u00bb del SAC.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A partir de mediados de la d\u00e9cada de 1950, el portaaviones estadounidense en Espa\u00f1a ya formaba una l\u00ednea entre Rota en C\u00e1diz (de la US Navy), Mor\u00f3n (Sevilla), Torrej\u00f3n (Madrid) y Zaragoza (estas tres de la USAF). Los trabajos de acondicionamiento de las bases fueron muy r\u00e1pidos tras la firma de los acuerdos hispano-norteamericanos en 1953.<\/p>\n<p>Las bases de la USAF formaban parte del despliegue mundial del SAC (Strategic Air Command, Mando A\u00e9reo Estrat\u00e9gico), que emple\u00f3 en sus primeros a\u00f1os en Espa\u00f1a principalmente bombarderos at\u00f3micos B-47 en misiones \u201creflex\u201d de alerta ante la amenaza nuclear sovi\u00e9tica. Todo este esfuerzo proporcion\u00f3 trabajo ilimitado al complejo militar-industrial estadounidense y de paso salv\u00f3 de la extinci\u00f3n al r\u00e9gimen de Franco.<\/p>\n<p>La autosuficiencia de las bases quedaba garantizada por el primer oleoducto constru\u00eddo en Espa\u00f1a, que serpenteaba desde Rota hasta Zaragoza portando las ingentes cantidades de gasolina que requer\u00edan el despliegue de los bombarderos nucleares.
