As\u00ed comenzaba el corresponsal de ABC su cr\u00f3nica de la inauguraci\u00f3n de la exppsici\u00f3n nacional de aeron\u00e1utica, el 27 de octubre de 1926[i]. Y la termina diciendo \u201cLa ligera impresi\u00f3n sacada de una corta visita no puede ser m\u00e1s halag\u00fbe\u00f1a: todo espa\u00f1ol.\u201d En vista de la descripci\u00f3n de los art\u00edculos expuestos en la exposici\u00f3n, no se comprende la euforia nacionalista del cronista. Lo que se expon\u00eda eran aviones Potez 25, de Havilland DH.19, Macchi 18 y Breguet XIX.<\/p>\n<p>Es verdad que tambi\u00e9n se pod\u00edan contemplar los modelos Loring tipo I y tipo III, de dise\u00f1o y fabricaci\u00f3n nacional. El Loring R.I estaba inspirado en el Fokker C.V, y al parecer dise\u00f1ado como un bombardero colonial de largo radio de acci\u00f3n. Su autonom\u00eda, de unos 800 km, le permit\u00eda cruzar el Protectorado espa\u00f1ol de Marruecos de una tirada. Lleg\u00f3 a Marruecos a comienzos de 1926 y fue retirado el a\u00f1o siguiente. La guerra acab\u00f3 poco despu\u00e9s, sin que decreciera la intensidad de los bombardeos sobre los cabile\u00f1os.<\/p>\n<p>Seg\u00fan Gom\u00e1, en el mes de julio de 1927, \u00faltimo de la guerra, se hicieron 2.250 horas de vuelo y se lanzaron 6,266 bombas de trilita, 6.283 incendiarias y 308 especiales (de gas t\u00f3xico) [ii]. As\u00ed termin\u00f3 la forja de la aviaci\u00f3n militar espa\u00f1ola, en una guerra colonial que hab\u00eda durado pr\u00e1cticamente desde su nacimiento, entre 1913 y 1927. En esos 14 a\u00f1os se hab\u00eda creado un instrumento de destrucci\u00f3n cuyo esp\u00edritu pas\u00f3 en bloque a la aviaci\u00f3n nacional que gan\u00f3 la guerra civil de 1936-1939.
