Eran los aviones del Ej\u00e9rcito del Aire del Armisticio (Arm\u00e9e de l&#8217;Air de l&#8217;Armistice, AAA), m\u00e1s conocida como la aviaci\u00f3n de Vichy.<br \/>\nLas marcas de vivo color rojo y amarillo que llevaban los aviones de la AAA en el morro y la cola eran un s\u00edmbolo de la anulaci\u00f3n de la capacidad ofensiva del ej\u00e9rcito del aire franc\u00e9s. Despu\u00e9s de la derrota francesa en junio de 1940 y tras tensas negociaciones, el gobierno alem\u00e1n consinti\u00f3 en permitir la existencia de algunas unidades a\u00e9reas, solamente para comunicaciones en la Francia metropolitana.<br \/>\nLas escuadrillas de cazas y bombarderos supervivientes se refugiaron en las colonias francesas del norte de \u00c1frica y Levante . Algunos de sus pilotos intentaron desertar a las filas aliadas, y se dictaron algunas normas de restricci\u00f3n de vuelos y combustibles.
