El avi\u00f3n elegido para llevar la bomba fue una versi\u00f3n agrandada del Mirage III, llamada con poca imaginaci\u00f3n Mirage IV, que vol\u00f3 por primera vez en 1959. Los atolones de la Polinesia Francesa se llevaron la peor parte.<\/p>\n<p>En 1964 el gobierno franc\u00e9s tom\u00f3 la decisi\u00f3n de realizar una demostraci\u00f3n de bombardeo at\u00f3mico \u201cen condiciones que se acerquen al m\u00e1ximo a las de una misi\u00f3n real \u201d La bomba explot\u00f3 sobre el atol\u00f3n de Fangataufa el 13 de julio de 1966. En Tahit\u00ed, a 500 km de distancia, se pudo ver un peque\u00f1o disco luminoso en el horizonte durante unos segundos.
