Arc-en-ciel parece ser un juego de palabras, el arco iris pintado en el fuselaje y tambi\u00e9n \u00abARC (Avions Ren\u00e9 Couzinet) en el cielo\u00bb.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Este avi\u00f3n, emanando glamour franc\u00e9s por cada remache de su estructura, fue parte de la m\u00edstica de la conquista del Atl\u00e1ntico Sur por la famosa Compagnie Aerienne A\u00e9ropostale. En enero de 1933 Jean Mermoz lo pilot\u00f3 durante m\u00e1s de 14 horas entre San Luis de Senegal y Natal, en Brasil, abriendo as\u00ed la gran ruta Europa-Sudam\u00e9rica a los aviones terrestres. El\u00a0<em>Arc-en-ciel<\/em> era un extraordinario dise\u00f1o de Ren\u00e9 Couzinet, cuya primera versi\u00f3n vol\u00f3 ya en 1928, destacando n\u00edtidamente con su escurrido dise\u00f1o sobre los biplanos arriostrados que dominaban los cielos de la \u00e9poca. Couzinet, buen dise\u00f1ador pero mal vendedor, no consigui\u00f3 triunfar con sus aviones. Emigr\u00f3 a Brasil, donde trabaj\u00f3 para el Gobierno, y se suicid\u00f3 en 1956 con su mujer, la ex-esposa de Mermoz. Tanto\u00a0Jean Mermoz como\u00a0su compa\u00f1ero\u00a0en A\u00e9ropostale Antoine de Saint-Exup\u00e9ry (que lleg\u00f3 a dirigir Aeroposta Argentina. la filial en Sudam\u00e9rica de la compa\u00f1\u00eda francesa) se perdieron en el mar. Mermoz en una traves\u00eda del Atl\u00e1ntico Sur en 1936 y Saint-Exup\u00e9ry el alg\u00fan lugar del Mediterr\u00e1neo, en 1944.
