Viasa (adquirida en parte por Iberia por entonces) tambi\u00e9n tuvo su versi\u00f3n de este dise\u00f1o.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\nEn 1990 coincidieron dos circunstancias que llevar\u00edan a la ruina a dos aerol\u00edneas: la presidencia de Carlos Sa\u00fal Menem en Argentina y la decisi\u00f3n del INI en Espa\u00f1a de expansionar la compa\u00f1\u00eda Iberia. La ola de privatizaciones del menemismo arrastr\u00f3 a Aerol\u00edneas, que pas\u00f3 a ser propiedad de Iberia en su casi totalidad, es decir del estado espa\u00f1ol. En 1994 Iberia se declar\u00f3 en quiebra y se prepar\u00f3 su privatizaci\u00f3n. Aerol\u00edneas Argentinas, tambi\u00e9n en graves apuros, termin\u00f3 en 2001 en manos del grupo Marsans (Air Comet), por el simb\u00f3lico precio de un d\u00f3lar. Marsans recibi\u00f3 US $ 300 millones del gobierno espa\u00f1ol que parece que no emple\u00f3 como deb\u00eda, en pagar acreedores, y en 2008 volvi\u00f3 a vender Aerol\u00edneas al estado argentino. Iberia fue privatizada, cotiz\u00f3 en bolsa, se reestructur\u00f3, redujo su plantilla, etc. y termin\u00f3 en manos de IAG.
