ABC public\u00f3 una fotograf\u00eda el d\u00eda siguiente donde se ve a los aviones aparcados entre palmeras, con la torre de control de fondo y su inscripci\u00f3n claramente legible (Base A\u00e9rea MORON Air Base Welcome \/ Bienvenidos) y una solitaria bandera espa\u00f1ola ondeando a lo lejos a la derecha. Incre\u00edblemente, seg\u00fan el pie de foto, \u201cFuentes de Defensa no quisieron confirmar ni desmentir la llegada de los F-117, pero subrayaron que en ning\u00fan caso \u201cse ha traspasado el l\u00edmite del convenio bilateral con Estados Unidos\u201d. Los aviones proced\u00edan de la base de Holloman, en Nuevo M\u00e9jico, y estaban de paso. Iban camino de su segunda intervenci\u00f3n en Iraq, doce a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s de su aplastante actuaci\u00f3n en la Primera guerra del Golfo.
