Hasta entonces, los enlaces de Argentina con el resto del mundo hab\u00edan estado en manos de compa\u00f1\u00edas extranjeras, como NYRBA (Nueva York &#8211; R\u00edo &#8211; Buenos Aires Line) y m\u00e1s tarde Panagra o BSAA (British South America Airways).<\/p>\n<p>El material de FAMA fue al principio exclusivamente brit\u00e1nico, Avro York y Avro Lancastrian, los dos derivaciones del bombardero Lancaster. Por aquellos a\u00f1os gran n\u00famero de aviones brit\u00e1nicos llegaron a Argentina para pagar la enorme deuda contra\u00edda durante la guerra en carne y trigo con la rep\u00fablica del Plata.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Estilo2\">La ruta Londres &#8211; Buenos Aires era ciertamente heroica: duraba tres d\u00edas, con escalas en Par\u00eds, Lisboa, Dakar, Natal y R\u00edo de Janeiro. Se hac\u00eda noche en Lisboa y Natal. M\u00e1s tarde FAMA compr\u00f3 mucho material norteamericano, especialmente DC-4.
