Los primeros Wal fueron fabricados en Italia para la Aviaci\u00f3n Militar espa\u00f1ola, que compr\u00f3 seis unidades y recibi\u00f3 la primera en 1922 (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ejercitodelaire.mde.es\/stweb\/ea\/ficheros\/pdf\/9F74075686A812B5C12575F200306DCD.pdf\">Aqu\u00ed<\/a> se puede ver un pdf con informaci\u00f3n t\u00e9cnica completa sobre esta m\u00e1quina, editado por el Ministerio de Defensa espa\u00f1ol).<\/p>\n<p>La m\u00e1quina era un gran hidroavi\u00f3n de canoa completamente met\u00e1lico, con dos alas truncadas a modo de flotadores laterales que resultaban inconfundibles, El ala, muy grande y recta, casi cuadrada, soportaba los dos motores en t\u00e1ndem. Resultaba muy robusto y eficaz, con gran capacidad de carga \u2013<a href=\"http:\/\/aeropinakes.com\/wordpress\/archive\/dos-toneladas-de-carga\/\">aspecto en el que insist\u00eda la publicidad<\/a>\u2013 y se vendi\u00f3 muy bien en su \u00e9poca.
