Los autobuses y camiones fueron cubiertos con toda clase de siglas, a veces blindados y utilizados para acercar tropas al frente. En los pueblos, muchas veces, el \u00fanico autom\u00f3vil, que pertenec\u00eda al rico del pueblo, era requisado con o sin acuerdo, seg\u00fan la zona fuera republicana o nacional, y dedicado a toda clase de patrullas. Los vales de gasolina se convirtieron en un importante factor de poder pol\u00edtico. Muchas personas fueron reclutadas como conductoras, y los conductores profesionales como tanquistas.
