El aeropuerto de Lukla se llama desde 2008 Tenzing-Hillary, en honor de Tenzing Norgay y Edmund Hillary, los primeros humanos que pusieron pie en la cumbre del monte Everest. Actualmente el diminuto aeropuerto registra intensa actividad en la temporada de escaladas al pico m\u00e1s alto de la Tierra. Con sus 475 metros de longitud de pista en pendiente rodeada de monta\u00f1as, y frecuentemente malas condiciones meteorol\u00f3gicas, est\u00e1 considerado como uno de los aeropuertos m\u00e1s peligrosos del mundo, aunque el asfaltado de la pista hace unos a\u00f1os mejor\u00f3 algo las cosas.
